Year-Round tourism

Varna - an attractive destination for year-round tourism!

Tourism is the most important sector of the city's economy.

Varna has a very well developed tourist infrastructure - over 60 000 beds, nearly 300 hotels in the town and nearby resorts, 90 of them 4 and 5 stars welcome 2 million tourists all year round.

For most of the people Varna is popular as the sea capital of Bulgaria - with its beautiful beaches, unique natural resources - mineral springs and green forests, numerous attractions and cultural and historical landmarks.

Varna is, however, much more than a destination for sea holiday tourism.

Varna offers wonderful conditions for year-round health and medical tourism.

Varna and its sea resorts "Golden Sands" and "St. St. Constantine and Elena" have a rich variety of balneological, spa and medical centers that can satisfy even the most pretentious demands of people who take care of their health during the four seasons of the year. Among the incredible assets of Varna are the 10 healing mineral springs.

In Varna you will find everything that makes you feel good - health programs, professionally prepared recreational and refreshing programs, including a full range of care and procedures.

The rich cultural and historical heritage, including the oldest processed gold in the world, adds particular importance to the development of cultural tourism in our city. Varna has the richest cultural calendar with nearly 50 festivals in different genres, numerous cultural events, concerts that attract foreign tourists and make Varna an attractive summer center of extremely active cultural life.

In the region of Varna there are specially developed eco-routes in the natural parks, which attract the lovers of nature and can be an excellent supplement to the sea vacation.

On the territory of Golden Sands Park, which is located near one of our most famous Black Sea resorts Golden Sands, there are five tourist and five specialized routes which present the biological and landscape diversity and are suitable for hiking, cognitive and nature tourism, cycling, child tourism, photo-tourism and tourism for people with special needs. Along the routes there are recreation areas - sheds and gazebos with benches, tables and fireplaces near old fountains.

In Varna and its adjacent resorts there are excellent conditions for business and congress tourism development - the luxurious 4 and 5 star hotels in Varna and the resorts are excellent locations for conferences, congresses, business events.

The efforts of Varna Municipality are focused on successful development of the tourism industry. The problems in the field of tourism are solved in cooperation with the representatives of the branch. The city has a marketing concept which aims to diversify and improve the quality of the tourist product, better promotion and active presentation of destination Varna on the international tourist fairs and exhibitions, international cooperation with twin cities.  The municipal administration works on these priorities in order to establish the city as a prestigious European destination for year-round tourism.

The numerous infrastructure projects contribute to the successful development of tourism through the development of a more attractive urban environment.
